Regulatory clarity supports strong energy pipeline in Europe says AIP Management; Triton creates new infra services biz

Good morning, Nina Lindholm here with the Europe Wire from the London newsroom.

There is renewed optimism in the air when it comes to the European energy segment, several industry experts told me recently. We kick off with that sentiment in mind, as AIP Management’s Greg Falzon tells PE Hub about the firm’s dealmaking outlook for the second half of the year.

We focus on the Nordics for our next two items. Mutares has listed Terranor, a maintenance services company, on Nasdaq First North Growth Market in Stockholm.

Next, we have an infrastructure services deal, as Triton has announced the formation of a new platform in Finland via a merger of three businesses.

We finish with a look at Schroders Capital expanding its AI tool kit with a virtual investment committee agent.

Clear signals

AIP Management expects Europe to remain its core focus for the second half of the year, with strong potential across transmission, energy storage and localized decarbonization infrastructure, Greg Falzon, partner and co-head of investments, told PE Hub.

I caught up with Falzon to learn more about the firm’s outlook and which sectors it will focus its own energy on.

Check out the premium Wire to learn about AIP Management's pipeline and its dealmaking highlights so far this year.

You can check out the full interview for Falzon’s thoughts on the exit markets.

IPO in

Listings in Europe seem to be gaining momentum. The latest company to take that route is Mutares’ portfolio company Terranor Group, which has commenced trading today on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market in Stockholm.

For share price details, take a look at the full Wire coverage.

PE Hub first reported on the IPO plans earlier in June.

Other listing activity recently came from EQT, whose portfolio company Enity, a specialist mortgage provider, began trading on Nasdaq Stockholm in mid-June.

Essential services

The Nordics are the place to be this morning. Triton has formed Lohkare Infra, a Finnish infrastructure services platform, through the acquisition and merger of three regional companies into one decentralized national group.

AI analysis

Private equity is still doubling down on AI. Just last month, PE Hub revealed how Goldman Sachs Asset Management started rolling out an AI education program to its portfolio CEOs earlier this year.

Schroders Capital has just announced an expansion to its Generative AI Investment Analyst (GAiiA) with the addition of a virtual investment committee agent.

Find out how the new addition works with the existing tool in the premium Wire coverage.

That’s all from me. MK Flynn will write to you later today with the US edition, while Craig McGlashan is in the Europe chair tomorrow.

Cheers,

Nina
