| | | Kaya! We are in Bunuru, the second summer and hottest time of the year. While fewer flowers are evident at this time of year, Marri are in full bloom. These allow birds and insects to sustain themselves through the hot days. If you go for a walk early in the day you will be rewarded with the sight of many birds foraging before it gets too hot. Thanks to everyone who completed the survey related to Norfolk Island pine stumps. The overwhelming majority of respondents support removal of the stumps, which will soon happen. There was also broad support for planting native trees (45%), installation of infrastructure such as a carved bench seat (42%) and some support for replanting Norfolk Island pines (20%). The Advisory Committee is now considering what happens next in this space and we'll keep the local community updated. |
