Hello there,
🤣 During a Wednesday hearing on DOGE, gay California Rep. Robert Garcia held up a large photo of Elon Musk in a tuxedo, calling it his version of a “dick pic.” Garcia’s remark was a callback to a 2023 hearing where Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene displayed explicit images of Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, drawing outrage.
“I find it ironic, of course, that our chairwoman, Congresswoman Greene, is in charge of running this committee,” he said Wednesday. “Now, in the last Congress, Chairwoman Greene literally showed a dick pic in our oversight congressional hearing, so I thought I’d bring one as well.”
🎭 The Kennedy Center has quietly removed a highly anticipated National Symphony Orchestra concert celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride from its website, intensifying fears that federally affiliated cultural institutions could be the next battleground in President Donald Trump’s war on the LGBTQ+ community.
📩 California Democratic U.S. Rep. Sara Jacobs is spearheading a congressional effort to pressure the Trump administration to rescind the Pentagon’s latest policy banning transgender Americans from serving in the military. In a Thursday letter, Jacobs and 41 other lawmakers urge Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to withdraw the controversial directive and call on Trump to reverse his executive order enabling the policy.
Onwards and upwards,
Alex Cooper
