Situational Analysis | October 3, 2023 It's Tuesday and National Techies Day. Aren't we all techies now?? What You Need to Know Utah Rep. John Curtis has decided to 'stay the course' and remain in the U.S. House of Representatives. Writing in the Deseret News, he says that "to walk away now would leave a commitment unfilled." He said he is getting things done for Utah and has recently been recognized as the 9th most effective Republican in the House. His staff was recognized as #1, out of 435 representatives. He also said that if one is not cares, "serving in D.C. will drain a little bit of a person's soul each day."
Chris Stewart is the new chair of the Utah Aerospace and Defense Association. The Association, created less than a year ago, serves as the first-ever convening body for aerospace and defense companies in the state. There are over 1000 companies in this space and they make up almost 20% of Utahâs economic activity. Stewart's time on the Intelligence committee and his experience in the military will allow him to leverage his expertise and continue serving Utahns in a critical way. âThis is my greatest passion and where I feel I can make a difference," he said. | | News Releases New homeownership assistance program to launch in Davis County this fall In recognition of the dramatic increase in home prices across the state, the Davis County Commission is proud to announce the creation of a new homeownership assistance program. Utilizing $1.8 Million of Federal funds, this initiative aims to assist low-to-moderate income families overcome the unprecedented challenges to homeownership, enabling them to purchase a home that they might otherwise not be able to afford. Launching October 16th 2023, income-qualified individuals and families interested in buying a home in Davis County can apply for a homeownership assistance loan of up to $50,000. These loans can be used for any combination of principal reduction, permanent interest rate buy down (up to $10,000), and/or up to 50% of the required down payment and closing costs. The loans will require no payments and will be repaid to the County (with an additional 1% interest) when the home is sold or refinanced for an ineligible reason. This program can be coupled with other State and Local homeownership assistance programs. (Read More) | | |
