Dear Voornaam, we wanted to be sure you saw the email below regarding the baby formula shortage. --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Voornaam, Families across the country are hurting. Baby formula is hard to find, due to supply chain delays and a safety recall at one of the countryâs largest manufacturers. President Biden is doing everything possible to improve the situation, from flying in baby formula from other countries on military planes to implementing the Defense Production Act to reduce supply chain delays. Republicans have exploited the crisis for political gain, attacking President Biden and Democrats for a crisis clearly caused by the failures of the private sector. There is more that we can do to end this crisis and prevent another, but despite pretending to care about this issue, Republicans are actively opposing solutions. On May 19th Congressional Republicans led the vote against a bill to allow the Food and Drug Administration to hire the new inspectors needed to boost baby formula production and make sure it is both readily available and safe. As Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell said âRepublicans arenât interested in solutions. Theyâre interested in theater and chaos. House Democrats offered a baby formula solution to help your family. Almost every House GOP member voted against it.â
Republicans have shown over and over that theyâre not interested in finding solutions to the problems we face as a country. All they care about is securing power and promoting new issues to divide us. If Republicans retake Congress this November, we wonât see progress on the real issues that affect voterâs lives. We will do everything in our power to stop a Republican takeover of Congress by mobilizing Oregon voters to elect Democrats in November: Ron Wyden, Earl Blumenauer, Suzanne Bonamici, Val Hoyle, Jamie McLeod-Skinner, Andrea Salinas, and Joe Yetter. We knew this was going to be a tough election year, so the Democratic Party of Oregon has been mobilizing volunteers, training candidates, and organizing a massive get-out-the-vote effort to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. By doing our part weâll make sure Democrats will beat Republican obstruction and pass common sense solutions to the challenges we face. We need your help to win. By contributing, youâll help us keep the U.S. House and Senate out of Republican hands, and make sure Democrats can keep delivering results for Oregonians and Americans. Will you donate to the Democratic Party of Oregon?
Weâve got a lot on the line this November, and we need your help. -Oregon Dems | ||||
