| | 5 Reasons You Can't Miss Haute Route Asheville #1. Blue Ridge Parkway This purpose-built scenic roadway was designed to showcase the natural beauty and breathtaking views along the tops of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The National Park Service only lets a few fully-supported cycling events use the BRP each year! #2 Choice of Routes New for 2019, Haute Route Asheville riders will be able to choose from Original or Compact routes, allowing you to customize the experience that works best for you. The Original route covers about 200 miles with 20,000 feet of climbing over three stages. The Compact route covers about 118 miles with 11,000 feet of climbing over three stages. Riders can change from Original and Compact courses at any time. To find out more about the Compact courses click here. Built by George Vanderbilt II on 8,000 acres, the Biltmore is the largest privately owned home in the U.S. #4 Unparalleled Support The quiet, narrow country roads around Asheville are great for cycling, but they are also remote. With Haute Route’s pro-level support – including mobile mechanics, safety motos, course marshals, and fully stocked and staffed aid stations – you can ride with confidence. #5 Incredible Restaurants and Breweries Asheville’s vibrant downtown is a hub for amazing culinary experiences and incredible craft breweries. Asheville's downtown hotels are walking distance to some of the best, locally sourced, farm-to-table food and beer in the South. |
