Week 12 Beyond the Box Score episode: |
Guest -- Ben Gretch of Stealing Signals |
Rest of season rankings update |
|
Christian Watson has been vaulting up my rankings back to a spot that accurately represents the optimism that I held for him heading into his third season. It took some time, but both Watson and Jordan Love are finally healthy simultaneously and finding their rhythm. And I love that Matt LaFleur has been getting Watson more involved on horizontally-breaking routes. Watson may be one of the most underrated players in Fantasy at the moment. |
|
Watson was one of the many many players that were discussed by Dan, Ben, and myself in Thursday's Week 12 Beyond the Box Score episode. What a treat to be joined to talk ball by Ben Gretch in Week 12! What a life! As always, thank you for being here! |

I have no insight into Isiah Pacheco's health, but I do believe that Andy Reid is ready to trust his star RB if they each feel confident in his recovery. In that scenario, Pacheco could be providing top-10 Fantasy RB value by the Fantasy playoffs. If you're able to be patient, Pacheco is an extremely intriguing player for Fantasy purposes. If I had a guarantee that I would make the playoffs, Pacheco would be more valuable to me than a good portion of the above list. I'd place him in the RB20-21 range if managing that type of a Fantasy roster. |
If you need to win right now, then RB29 or RB31 is where I would rank Pacheco. He might not be a useful Fantasy option for a couple of weeks. He also may not need a full allotment of touches vs. the Panthers and Raiders to be more productive than Rhamondre Stevenson, D'Andre Swift, or Tony Pollard over the next couple of weeks. |

If you can guarantee that you'll make the playoffs and his Week 14 bye is a non-issue, Nico Collins would be WR1. His Fantasy playoff schedule is so juicy. Each of those games could produce 50+ combined points (shootouts with Stroud, Collins, and Dell making up for a bummer of a year? COULD BE FUN!) |
League-winner Jauan Jennings is in full effect. We believed. We made it. |

Rest of season flex rankings |
|
This is how I would draft if starting from scratch today and needing to win two of three games to make the playoffs. That's the way I approached these rankings, it was the most neutral way that I knew how to approach this. |
Three notes on this top-15: |
1. If I had a guarantee that I would make the playoffs, Nico Collins would be 1.01. I really think that he will be that valuable from Weeks 15-17. He still has a Week 14 bye and may not be playing a full role until that point. Hopefully that's not the case, but we just do not know. But if we did know that we could count on him when it mattered, he'd be the first player I would select. |
2. Following similar logic, if I could be guaranteed that Christian McCaffrey's body would hold up through the playoffs, he'd be 1.02 and one of just two players who I'd consider drafting ahead of Collins. |
3. Ja'Marr Chase is the other player who I would consider moving to the 1.01 spot if I had a guarantee. He's on bye in Week 12, so any team that needs to win might be better off swapping him for Justin Jefferson or Puka Nacua and getting some additional flex pieces back in the trade. Surely Ja'Marr won't quit on the season, sure. Nothing is actually sure. Who knows what happens if the Bengals are eliminated from the playoffs. If I had assurance, Chase would be 1B to Nico Collins as the WR1A. |
|
Probably my favorite moment from this week's Beyond the Box Score was when Gretch's exuberant enthusiasm encouraged me to move Brock Bowers way up my rankings. I moved him up to 23 overall, but feel free to push him as high as you want, really. The rest of season schedule looks dope, and Bowers may just crush the rest of the TE position in points from this point on. Having him on your roster realistically could provide a bigger edge than any single player if we see more games like his Week 11 performance. |
|
Another player who I left the Beyond the Box Score discussion feeling much higher on was Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Am I too high on JSN, Ladd McConkey, Josh Downs, Brian Thomas Jr., and Bucky Irving? Maybe! Probably, even. That's the intent, I want to be aggressive in targeting early-career players down the stretch. Historically, we've seen plenty of precedence that indicates young players are the ones you want on your Fantasy roster late in the season. |
|
This CeeDee Lamb ranking gave Ben a jump scare, but I honestly feel like it's still too high. In my mind, he has to be the one single player who is the most-likely to not be contributing late in the season among the 60 names that we've seen to this point. He's currently dealing with multiple injuries on a team that is not competitive. Why would he or Dallas have any interest in risking serious injury by force-feeding Lamb? |
Who feels more likely to be helping your Fantasy team down the stretch -- Lamb or Darnell Mooney? Lamb or Courtland Sutton? Lamb or Khalil Shakir? All of those teams are likely to be preparing for the playoffs and looking for ways to make sure the offense has a rhythm and has found answers to get the ball in the hands of the top playmakers. |
Even Tee Higgins probably should be higher than Lamb. The Bengals at least have some trace of hope to follow. And Higgins is not catching passes from Cooper Rush/Trey Lance. |
|
|
I'm not so sure that DeVonta Smith is going to be worth much of anything down the stretch. I hope that I am wrong. But the Eagles seem likely to keep leaning on the ground game. Like Lamb, Smith might not be worth his name value. |
