A Surprise Same-Store Sales Bump Isn’t Enough To Offset An Earnings Miss For Kohl’s
 
Kohl's missed on earnings, which was enough to send its stock price down in after-hours trading. It did manage to notch a surprise uptick in same-store sales, though, despite analysts universally predicting a drop. Its CEO noted same-store sales’ pick-up would have been better, but for those pesky late summer hurricanes. Going forward, the retailer is ready to take on the holidays — and already seeing results from its partnership with Amazon.
