| Retail media trends in 2025: From leaders at Ocado, Nectar360, Uber and more Retail media over the last couple of years has generated a lot of debate. In the marketing and advertising industry at least, it’s probably second only to AI for column inches. As retailer ad revenue streams grow, we’ve seen the backlash to the hype, the backlash to the backlash, and so on. Lots of people have a view on topics such as measurement and incrementality, standardisation and walled gardens, targeting and off-site inventory, full-funnel campaigns and ‘omni-commerce’, the list goes on. So, we asked some experts from across the industry to tell us what’s really happening, and what 2025 has in store. |
Learning and Development in 2025: From AI to culture change Marketers are frequently required to master new skillsets and tools to remain at the cutting edge or brush up on the fundamentals to keep their knowledge current. Yet according to Marketing Week‘s Career & Salary survey 2024, almost half of marketers are not being offered opportunities to upskill and bridge these skills gaps. Other research, such as Dotdigital’s CMO tracker, has found that many marketers lack the know-how and confidence to use emerging tools like generative AI. Amidst all of this, the world of learning and development is itself subject to rapid change and shifting trends such as the arrival of generative AI and the move back to in-person working. These have given rise to debates over how L&D can adapt in order to achieve the greatest effect. What will this mean for learning and development as we go into 2025? |
