The balance of power has shifted.
My twin flame Maeikisala – my life partner who works with me as a shaman – recently co-facilitated a shamanic ceremony with me for a small group. While everything went fine overall, we both noticed that our leadership harmony was less smooth than we would have liked. In the following days, we had some frank discussion and did private ceremonial work to explore what was needed to take our co-facilitation to the next level.
The inner guidance we ultimately received was clear: the teacher/apprentice shamanic relationship we had started with no longer works for us. I have a lot more shamanic and ceremonial experience, but Maeikisala's shamanic and energetic abilities are coming online more fully. Not only that, we both want to move beyond the patriarchal, power-over paradigm that has caused so much suffering and destruction on this planet.
We've agreed to move forward in equality. In this ever-evolving partnership, neither gets to be the shamanic boss. We resolve any disagreements through respectful communication. It helps tremendously that we always turn to our inner wisdom for guidance on anything important.
Coming to this decision cleared a subtle but chronic level of tension in our relationship that we hadn't been fully aware of. Now we engage in a harmonious dialogue where we freely share and receive each other's insights and experiences. We strive to really see and hear each other.
We're excited to watch this new power-sharing dynamic unfold. We're confident that it will benefit all those who work with us!
