| Aug. 23, 2022 The investigation continues after police say a 19-year-old man died from a self-inflicted gunshot Monday night at a sporting goods store at the Eden Prairie Center shopping mall. The incident happened about 7:30 p.m. at the Scheel's store on the south end of the mall. Witnesses said a single gunshot was fired on the 2nd floor of the store, prompting an announcement to evacuate. Dozens of officers converged on the mall, but Eden Prairie police chief Matt Sackett said the incident was over quickly.
