Reviewing Rio+20, looking to London 2012

Following the Rio+20 UN sustainable development conference approaches we review the achievements and consider the need for further work. Farooq Ullah of the Stakeholder Forum gives his assessment:

"Countries must ‘take Rio home’ with them and focus on national delivery plans. That is the level on which implementation will actually happen."

With the Olympic Games just weeks away, the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 gives its assessment on the aim to deliver a holistic sustainability programme.

In government, updated business plans detail departments' work to mainstream sustainable development in policy and practice, while DECC has detailed plans to bring the Green Deal energy efficiency market into operation.

We've more news on emissions reporting for business, an online case study library, the Happy Planet Index, a people's manifesto for sustainable development, and agreements to cut waste and adapt to climate change.
