A growing number of employers are turning to AI to interview job candidates, according to a Guardian report. It cited the case of a job seeker who recently landed an introductory phone interview with a company. She assumed the encounter would involve a chat with a recruiter, but it turned out to be a "creepy" AI system — one that repeatedly interrupted her answers with the response, "Great, sounds good, perfect!" The report also highlighted how the applicants are starting to use AI tools to tailor their résumés, write cover letters, and even auto-apply for jobs. A 2023 survey suggested that by this year, 4 in 10 companies would begin using AI to talk with candidates in interviews, with 15% of these firms claiming that hiring decisions would be made with no human input at all ... |
