Rosemary Serviette (Napkin) Rings
By ShirleyE
For a lovely place setting which will also give off a wonderful herbal aroma to get your guests' taste buds going, use a wrap of rosemary around the serviettes (napkins) instead of a traditional napkin ring.

I saw picture in a magazine using the colors navy blue and sunny yellow. It grew on me! Thought I would first try looking around my home. I found an unused canvas board, stencil, and craft paints to start my project.

Need a fun activity for the kids on a rainy day? We made boats out of plastic bottles and decorated them with supplies on I had on hand. They kept the kids occupied and they had fun making their toy boats.

All along I thought tie dye patterns could only be applied on fabrics, but when I saw a tutorial on how to put it on paper and I gave it a try and it looked great!

With just a few garden supplies, you can make this cute hanging envelope planter. Fill this planter with some plant cuttings and it will look nice in your yard! It is the perfect planter to make if you are limited on space in your yard and this planter will not cost much if you have most of the supplies already like I did!
Upcycled Cracker Box for Storing Craft Supplies
By Robyn
This is a charming little box, made out of part of a cracker box. The designs on this box are various colors of paper, glued on all four sides. Twine adds a cute touch, along with a big bow. I am using this one to store craft supplies and paper scraps.

Blowing a mixture of liquid soap, paint, and water through a straw make colourful bubbles that can turn a surface into beautiful art when popped. This is a craft I like to do with my little nieces and nephews, but I blow the bubbles so they don't accidentally ingest anything. This can also be done with water soluble food colouring.
This little garden built for a gnome is a fun garden accent, perfect for the front porch. Lean how we made ours in this short video.
Making a Custom Table Scarf from a Placemat
By Sandi/Poor But Proud
I got 6 pretty green placemats early in the year. Five have gone under a bunch of things, including the actual table where I eat.
Adjusting the Size of Fitted Sheets
By littergitter
I received this pair of sheets for Christmas three years ago and I never did like them. The fitted sheet was a little too big for the bed and it wrinkled when sleeping on it. I put the pair of sheets in the box of items I collect to take to Goodwill, which gives me a little time to really know if I want to part with this item.
House Address Sign Using Glass Nuggets
By Sandi/Poor But Proud
My daughter just bought a house and needed an address sign. I asked if I could make it. It was fun!
By katrine2706
This was originally created on one of my kid's favorite art shows. It was inspired by the story of Jonah in the bible who was eaten by a whale. So what I did was add a little humor in it just to entertain some other kids around.

I wanted to create a small zen garden next to our deck. It needed something extra, hmmmm, a wind chime! I created a bamboo wind chime to give my garden area a relaxing flare, very simple!

A friend of mine is celebrating her birthday early in January. After all the expenses for Christmas, I need to budget carefully, so I thought about making her a photo gift.

My teaching colleague and friend will celebrate her birthday soon. At our school, she is a Grade Tutor, and she is responsible for addressing behavioral and social problems with the learners in her grade.

My mother adores flowers that stand tall like hyacinths and lavender, so I'm making her a bouquet of them out of coloured paper. That's really all you need: paper, scissors, and glue. These flowers include the stem, so you can create several and they make a great bouquet as a gift.

You can make a beautiful little heart out of 4 strips of ribbon. It just takes a few weaves and a bit of hot glue. I like to use these on my homemade greeting cards, or glue a pin on the back to use as a brooch. You can use 2 colours of ribbon if you like. This works with all ribbon widths.
DIY Lollipop Paper Quilling Tool
By attosa
I haven't seen anyone do this before so I'm really quite proud of my thrifty innovation. I love quilled paper crafts, but I hate sitting there, rolling paper into swirls for hours on end. Here is how to make a a paper quilling tool out of a lollipop, where one end grabs the paper, and the other helps you spin the paper much faster.
Mother's Day Pill Bottle Vases
By attosa
I made these flower vases for Mother's Day using pill bottles, spray paint, and yarn. My father has been hoarding his prescription pill bottles in his old age, saying they're nice looking and useful, and that they will make great gifts one day.
By 15mhhm15
Mother's Day is coming up! My mother always insists for us not to get flowers because they're overpriced for the holiday and because the flowers do not last long. So instead for this year's handmade card, I made 3D flowers that will last forever!
"Stained Glass" Recycled Windows
By DOROTHY
A new use for old windows. Paint the window frames and let dry. Be creative and paint the glass with stained glass paint. Once dry, glue the marbles to the glass then let the glue dry.

Use an old recycled chair from the junk to make into a planter for flowers to set in the garden. Get an old chair to use. Take the seat off and use as a pattern to cut one out of hard wood to withstand the weather.

Sometimes a day at work can just get too long. On days like these, some adult coloring during lunchtime is just what the doctor ordered. This trio of birds is ideal for days when you are feeling stressed out, and when you need a mini breather before carrying on with the rest of the day's work.
Make Confetti from Scrap Paper
By 15mhhm15
Do you ever use construction paper or even lined paper and after cutting or using the section of the paper you need, toss the paper in the trash? Stop right now. You can use the scrap pieces. You can use cute shape hole punchers and save those scrap paper into confetti!

This gift bag is made from a crispbread box, painted using a 99p test pot. For the handles I used twine/string. I filled it with homemade items; home grown and dried mint, and a lavender sachet.
I was trying to read a book while eating lunch a bit ago and was having trouble keeping the pages open.
Fabric Scrap and Recycled Clothing Coasters
By lnygaard
Old shirts or leftover fabric make great coasters. Braid strips of 1 1/2 inch strips of fabric and tie several together if you want larger coasters. Take the braided strips and lay them next to each other creating circles.
Spring is here and so is spring flower planting. Most of us know that to make our annual plants bloom more and to continue blooming we must pinch back our spent blooms. So why not do this pruning a little early and have that bloom for our craft projects.
Keeping Cross Stitch Clean in Floor Frame
By Marti S.
I do a lot of cross stitching and always use a floor stand. However, when kept in the stand frame, it is open to household odors, my hubby's cigarette smoke, etc. I now use a plastic garbage bag to slide over the scroll rods and upper frame, therefore helping to keep it a little cleaner.

When I deadhead my herbs, I put the clippings in a nice bowl on a table, the bathroom counter, or anywhere. Then every time I walk past, I just toss them a few times with my fingertips. This releases the fragrance into the room even more and helps it to dry evenly.
By Lisa Adams
This is a very simple craft indeed. Great for little girls who love nature and easy for anyone to create! Be sure to supervise little ones (there are sharp wires on the craft birds).

A sewing kit is a great gift for anyone leaving home. Cut notches in the edges of a small piece of card and wind thread around it, sticking the ends down with scotch tape. Cut out two squares of felt.
