| Hello. All eyes are on Russia today as officials from the US head there for talks on ending the war in Ukraine, while President Putin applies pressure in the Kursk region. My colleagues at BBC Verify have analysed the movements of two huge ships in the moments before a collision off the coast of the UK. We also have dramatic footage of a prison break in Indonesia, plus find out why Roblox's CEO is telling some parents to keep their children off the gaming site. | |

TOP OF THE AGENDA | Russia says it's in final stage of regaining Kursk as US team arrives in Moscow |
|
| | For the first time during the war in Ukraine, Putin was seen in military uniform. Credit: Reuters | The Kremlin says Russian forces are in the final stages of an operation to regain territory in the Kursk region from Ukraine. If Russia succeeds, Ukraine will lose one of the few bargaining chips it holds in negotiations to end the war, writes security correspondent Frank Gardner. He adds that Vladimir Putin's surprise visit to Kursk on Wednesday – when the president, dressed in army fatigues, told commanders he wanted Ukrainian forces there defeated “in the shortest possible timeframe” - was likely done to distract from "Ukraine’s PR success in apparently getting itself back into favour with the White House". With no response yet from Russia on the ceasefire proposal, US officials have arrived in Moscow for talks. |

| | | The Stena Immaculate was being used by the US government to transport 18,000 tonnes of jet fuel. Credit: BBC | Just how did a collision between two huge vessels off the coast of the UK happen? Using ship tracking data, BBC Verify's Nick Eardley has been piecing together what we know about the crash between the Solong and the Stena Immaculate, and the moments leading up to it. |
