Initial unemployment claims drop by more than 2,000 in week

For the week ending Feb. 13, initial claims in South Carolina fell by 2,225 from the previous week to 4,475. Anderson County had a state-high 470 claims. Nationally, initial claims rose by 13,000 to 861,000.

S.C. to become hub for cancer-preventative testing

Starting this March, a South Carolina lab will become ground zero for a preventative test that can detect cancer-causing mutations, risks or tumors in advance through a quick blood sample taken at home or a physician's office.
