Safe Net Zero eBulletin from HSE Join us for our next Safe Net Zero event - Safety considerations for the production and large scale storage of hydrogen and its derivatives In the Autumn 2024 Budget, the UK government announced further investment in hydrogen production and infrastructure, bolstering confidence for those working in this area. To make Great Britain a safe, green energy superpower, new hydrogen production and storage projects need to build in safety from the start, whilst existing ones need to continue to manage safety risks effectively throughout the project lifecycle. To help industry, government and academia achieve this, HSE is once again bringing together key hydrogen stakeholders to share knowledge and experiences, so that together they can ensure the safe development and roll out of hydrogen technologies. We are putting together a two-day programme where you can expect safety-focused thought leadership and the latest technological insights from several major UK and international projects producing and storing both hydrogen and its derivatives. We'll be announcing the agenda and speakers in the New Year, but until then you can book now at our early bird rate of £395, saving £100 on the full ticket price of £495! (Early bird rate valid until 6 January 2025). We have a limited number of sponsorship and exhibition opportunities available which provide an excellent platform to raise your organisation's profile at this event. With packages to suit all budgets, your presence will allow you to showcase your products and services, engage with our delegates and generate new leads. Train with HSE! Our hydrogen timeline charts two decades of HSEâs world-leading, cutting-edge research looking into the practicality, risk and safety issues associated with utilising hydrogen as a source of low-carbon energy. We share this knowledge and experience through Hydrogen: The Fundamentals, a training course designed for those working with hydrogen, so that they can understand how it may behave differently to incumbent fuels and how to safely engineer for those differences. Join the growing number of delegates and organisations benefiting from HSE's hydrogen safety expertise. Join us for one of the following dates: 10 to 11 February 2025     Live online 25 February 2025          HSE Science and Research Centre, Buxton £690 per delegate |
New from HSE and Ricardo: Learn how to manage an incident involving hydrogen This in-person workshop developed in collaboration between HSE and Ricardo provides fundamental knowledge on how to manage incidents involving hydrogen. As the use of hydrogen as a low carbon energy vector increases, so does the potential for an unintended incident. The consequences of hydrogen emergencies can be catastrophic, therefore producers, transporters, end users and first responders all need to understand how to work with hydrogen safely, as well as proactively plan for incidents involving hydrogen , so that individuals, teams and organisations know what to do should an incident occur. This one-day, in-person workshop has been developed by HSE and Ricardo and is designed to help delegates understand the risks associated with hydrogen, the hazards created by an incident and build competence in proactive emergency planning should an incident involving hydrogen occur.
