Desperation motivation: The Saints proved to be the more desperate team Sunday, beating the visiting Rams, 27-20. Columnist Rod Walker says the team threw every punch they had, while Jeff Duncan analyses how the team managed to neutralize Aaron Donald, the Rams' defensive superstar. Crucially, the Saints kept the penalties to a minimum and committed no turnovers. Getting a little inspiration from their former leader before the game probably didn't hurt. Teaching students raising kids: The Orleans Parish School Board recently adopted a policy requiring schools to accommodate pregnant or parenting students in hopes of keeping the from dropping out. Reporter Marie Fazio recently visited with one of the schools already leading the way. Not making the grade: Private insurers need a grade of B+ or better in order to take over high-risk policies from the state-run insurer of last resort. But an investigation by reporter Michael Finch II has found that state regulators have not always enforced that standard.
