Happy Wednesday morning, Saints fans. It's hard to believe that we are just one sleep away from the NFL draft (and another Pelicans playoff game!). We will have ~so much~ coverage for y'all later this morning and into the afternoon, as we'll be chatting with Saints GM Mickey Loomis around 11 a.m. Plus, we'll have several other stories, including one more mock draft. Yep, we've got one more on deck and spoiler alert, there are some against-the-grain picks in there. But before we get ahead of ourselves... here's what we've got on deck for y'all to read this morning: The Saints, even without Sean Payton at the helm, are still holding true to their scouting process for draft prospects. And, as Jeff Duncan writes, Jeff Ireland has a type. They prescribe to the "best player available" draft philosophy, which really means "best player available … for the Saints." What does that look like? Well, Duncan breaks it alllll down here. In roster news, Brother Martin and LSU alumnus Will Clapp has signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, multiple sources confirmed to the Times-Picayune. With Clapp signing in the AFC West and Kwon Alexander remaining unsigned, the Saints currently have just one player remaining who played up the road in Baton Rouge: backup offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins. In case you missed it, the series we ran late last week and into the weekend finished up yesterday. I've got all of those pinned down below for y'all to catch up on. Like I said earlier, keep it locked in to NOLA.com today and throughout the weekend. Our Saints crew has so much in store for y'all and I can't wait to share it all with you. Until next time, Amie Just |
