The groundbreaking female hip-hop duo, the first female rap act to win a Grammy, will highlight Columbia’s annual New Year’s celebration on Dec. 31. The downtown party, also featuring food trucks and fireworks, has taken place each year since 2011.

Results mixed in 2019 state report cards

The report cards are released by the S.C. Department of Education each year to analyze student performance. Schools receive overall ratings of excellent, good, average, below average or unsatisfactory.

BMW Plant Spartanburg celebrates 25 years

With vehicles rolling off the assembly line at a rate of about one per minute, most of the 11,000 workers building BMWs at Plant Spartanburg couldn’t pause even to celebrate 25 years of production. In September 1994, the first BMW built in the United States rolled off that line.
