Bill Hooser was killed deliberately on I-15 yesterday when Michael Aaron Jayne hit him with a semi. After killing the officer, the suspect stole a truck, fled the scene and was subsequently arrested after he crashed in Vernal. Community members and first responders showed their support for the family, lining the route along I-15 as his body was escorted to the medical examiner. There will be another procession this morning at 10:30 am as Sgt. Hooser is returned home to Santaquin. | | News Releases U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) this week was recognized as a âFiscal Heroâ for the 118th Congress by Fix the Debtâa project of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CFRB)âfor his bipartisan efforts to rein in the national debt and balance the federal budget. Since coming to Congress, Romney has made budget and debt issues a top priority and has been urging Congress to pass the Fiscal Stability Actâhis legislation with Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) which would create a bicameral fiscal commission tasked with finding legislative solutions to stabilize and decrease our national debt.
