Milliken & Co. closes deal on Borchers

Milliken & Co., a global diversified manufacturer based in Spartanburg, has formally acquired Borchers Group Limited, a global specialty chemicals company that makes high-performance coating additives and specialty catalyst solutions.

Earth Fare to close all stores, including 6 in S.C.

The natural and organic grocery store plans to close all 50 of its locations, including the Summerville and West Ashley locations. The company said in a statement that the decision was based on challenges in the retail industry that impeded the company’s progress and ability to refinance debt.

NHE Inc. adds to its property management portfolio

A Greenville-based property management firm has added four new Upstate communities — Bridges Crossing in Simpsonville, Augusta Row Townhomes near downtown Greenville, Indigo Pointe in Mauldin and Le Jardin, situated between Greenville and Spartanburg counties — to the portfolio of community associations that it manages.

Lifestyle brand, candy shop opening on King Street

Salt Life is expected to open later this month, and OMG Candy Store is scheduled to open April 1, both at 316 King St. in downtown Charleston. Charleston Commercial represented both tenants in their leases in the building.

Advance America adopts new corporate name

Advance America will now operate under a new corporate identity, Purpose Financial Inc. This change reflects the company’s evolution into a family of brands offering a suite of consumer credit products, according to a news release.
