S.C. unemployment claims increase by 3,267 in week

The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce said the jump is more attributable to the Fourth of July holiday than the pandemic. In the last 17 weeks, 671,079 initial claims have been filed in the state.

Military aviation company comes to Greenville County

Aero Precision/Kellstrom Defense, a military aviation sustainment provider, announced plans to establish operations in Greenville County. The company's $1.2 million investment will create 21 new manufacturing jobs.

2020 brings fewer containers, more tonnage through port

The S.C. Ports Authority reported a drop in pier containers and 20-foot equivalent container units during the 2020 fiscal year but also saw an increase in vehicle imports, pier tons and cruise passenger numbers.

Roper St. Francis renews search for CEO

A spokesman for Roper St. Francis said the CEO named in April would not be able to take the job after having to attend to health and family matters unrelated to the hospital system. The hospital said Jim Berg will continue as interim president and CEO while a national search is conducted.
