North Charleston-based Coastal Corrugated acquired by N.C.-based company

Coastal Corrugated Inc. has been acquired by Atlantic Packaging, based in Wilmington, N.C. Atlantic has 18 regional facilities, including an existing location on Spaniel Lane in Summerville.

Smith Technologies not moving out of Upstate after acquisition

Spartanburg-based Smith Technologies, a subsidiary of JM Smith Corp., will remain headquartered in the Upstate after an acquisition by growth equity firm Francisco Partners was announced Tuesday.

Lowe breaks ground on new Charleston hotel, announces regional office

Real estate firm Lowe broke ground on its new waterfront hotel in downtown Charleston. The Cooper is expected to open in 2022 and will include 225 guest rooms, plus retail and event space. The developer also said it would open a Southeast regional office in Charleston to support its growth.
