April port volumes down as result of COVID-19 The S.C. Ports Authority saw a slight dip in container volumes last month because of COVID-19, but fiscal year-to-date volumes remain steady, according to data provided by the ports authority. So far in this fiscal year, which began July 1, the port has moved 1.13 million pier containers and 2 million TEUs. Solar company to open Greenville distribution hub First Solar Inc. plans to open a 450,000-square-foot southeastern distribution hub near Greer’s Inland Port later this month and plans to use the facility for warehousing and domestic logistics needs. The company expects to import 7,000 containers from the Charleston port per year. |
