BY MATTHEW ALBRIGHT | Staff writer Some students and parents have been criticizing the Baton Rouge public school system for a field trip last week that they say felt more like a church service than a career day at times. But district leaders are defending the event, saying any prayers or other religious activities were student led, not formally part of the program. Here's their defense, and how some students are reacting to it. A plan to put some juveniles on the grounds of Angola can move forward after a judge sided with the state in a lawsuit trying to stop the move. The judge was clear that the plan is "untenable" and could cause serious problems. But she said a small number of youth are causing such chaos in the larger system that keeping the current situation would be even worse.
