Daily Covid cases surge past 1,000

Scotland has recorded the highest number of new daily coronavirus cases since February. 

More than 1,000 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the Scottish Government.

It comes after concerns about a rise in infections as lockdown eases

 

Euro 2020 fanzone 'not without risks'

A public health expert has warned the Euro 2020 fanzone is 'not without risks' - and it's too late for mandatory testing.

Linda Bauld has spoken out ahead of the tournament, which will see 6,000 people a day allowed in the fan zone at Glasgow Green.

"When you contrast this with all the other thing which are still restricted, it’s hard for some... to understand the logic," she said.
