| Dear Friends of Eckhart Teachings,
The year 2020 has been a year full of personal and collective challenges. A good year for spiritual practice and a potential deepening of Presence. This is because the opportunity, as well as the motivation, for awakening is much greater when facing adversity than when we remain in our comfort zone. On every level, challenges are the driving force behind the evolution of consciousness. This Christmas season, you may be unable to be with your friends and family, yet even this restriction presents an opportunity to find a deeper connectedness that transcends the physical. Acceptance of the present moment is the doorway into that transcendent dimension, where we find unity and inner peace.
Christmas is the celebration of light arising when the darkness is greatest and the nights are longest. In the same way, the spiritual birth in the human soul, which is the arising of Presence, often happens at a time of adversity and suffering. The inner light of your Presence dispels the darkness.
May the spirit of Christmas deepen the Stillness, love, peace, and joy that is inseparable from who you are at the deepest level. Peace and blessings to all.
