The cubes: For Jazz Festers, today is kinda the "start your engines" time of the year. The festival has posted the times all the performers will play — the all-important "cubes." Our music guy Keith Spera has the latest. Solar-powered and pilotless: Engineers are testing a solar-powered airplane on the Mississippi coast they say will dramatically push the limits of flight. We're talking months in the air. They unveiled the craft during a media event Monday — it’s got a wingspan almost the size of football field. And no pilot! Streetcar branding: Few things say “New Orleans” like a photo of a streetcar making its way along an oak-lined street. Picturesque. Iconic. And maybe soon tightly regulated. Huh? Check out this one from Joni Hess. Bad split: If you thought you’d heard the last from Michael Thomas when he left the Saints, well . . . you haven’t. Never shy with his opinions, Thomas hit social media again. Thanks for reading Lunch Line. If you're not a subscriber to The Times-Picayune, check out this great offer. Cheers, Bob |
