| TEN-T Days in Ljubljana LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), April 25-27 - European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc gathered with Ministers, Members of the European Parliament and key stakeholders in Ljubljana to discuss how to contribute to smart, sustainable and safe Mobility, relying on the trans-European transport network and investments in transport connectivity. The TEN-T Days hosted a high-level Interinstitutional meeting to discuss further synergies between transport, energy and digital connectivity, and the investment support with highest EU value-added in the post-2020 framework. Among the high-level events, there were Ministerial sessions with Western Balkans and Turkey, and with Southern Mediterranean countries. Road Safety Declaration was endorsed by Transport Ministers and representatives of the Western Balkans, as well as the Joint declaration on Borders and Common Crossing Points, with exception of Serbia (expected to endorse in a later stage). |

| Corridor 10 through the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia completed – Final section long 28.2 km opens The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, April 23 - The newly built section of the highway from Demir Kapija to Smokvica opened for traffic on Monday, April 23, 2018, thereby completing Corridor 10 through the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. This is a 28.2-km section, thanks to which the travel time on the Friendship highway will be reduced by 25 minutes, the Macedonian agency MIA reported. Over 700,000 vehicles are expected to travel down the highway each year, and the safer conditions and faster travel are expected to contribute to economic development and strengthening of cooperation in the region, Macedonian officials said. |

| Serbia to invest 60 mln euro in road linking Valjevo to Corridor XI BELGRADE (Serbia), April 20 – Serbia's infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic said the government plans to invest 60 million euro ($74 million) in the construction of a trunk road connecting Valjevo, in western Serbia, to Corridor XI. The government has already provided the funding for the preparation of the project documentation and hopes that construction works can start in 2019, Mihajlovic said in a video file posted on the website of news agency Tanjug on Thursday. The project can be financed from the state budget or through other sources, Mihajlovic said. "Next year, we will have an exact idea on how to finance the construction of the road." |

| Bosnia and Herzegovina's government approves two loan deals with OPEC for works on Corridor Vc SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 17– Bosnia's government said it has approved two draft loan agreements with the OPEC Fund for International Development intended to finance construction works on a section of European transport Corridor Vc. The first loan amounts to $27.2 million (21.9 million euro) and will fund component A of the Nemila - Donja Gracanica section of Corridor Vc, while the second totals 24.3 million euro and is planned to go towards the construction of component B of the same section, the council of ministers said in his statement. |

| Serbia completes 23.8 mln euro railway overhaul project BELGRADE (Serbia), April 13 - Serbia's state-owned company Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije has said it completed a 23.8 million euro ($29.4 million) project for the overhaul of the Topcider-Rakovica-Resnik section of the railway line linking Belgrade to Montenegro's Bar. The works were carried out by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and were funded by the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Serbian railway infrastructure company said. In addition to the overhaul of the railway line, the project included the modernisation of the Resnik and Rakovica railway stations. |

| | Rail regulations adopted by Serbian Government BELGRADE (Serbia), April 13 - The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted three law projects regulating the field of rail transport and securing a further development of the railways, opening the rail services market and enhancing railway safety. The adopted law projects further harmonize the national legislature with the EU acquis and the implementation of the technical standards used in Europe. The law on railways regulates railway infrastructure management, provision of railway transport services, the licensing of transporters, prices, services and competence of the Directorate for Railways. |

| World Bank loan to allow reform of Serbian railway sector BELGRADE (Serbia), March 27 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors approved three loans in the amount of 225.7 million euros supporting the Government of Serbia’s efforts to improve its management of public expenditures, to make energy and transport public utilities more efficient and financially sustainable, and to advance the healthcare of its citizens. The first operation, the Second Public Expenditure and Public Utilities Development Policy Loan (PEPU DPL 2), in the amount of 160.6 million euros, supports the Serbian Government’s multi-year effort to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of public spending as well as the transformation of the energy and transport sectors. |

| France's Vinci signs Belgrade airport concession deal BELGRADE (Serbia), March 22 - Serbia's government said it signed a 25-year concession agreement for the operation of Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport with French company Vinci Airports. Vinci Airports will pay 417 million euro ($513.2 million) to the Serbian government and 84 million euro to the retail shareholders of airport operator Nikola Tesla [BEL:AERO] for the concession plus an annual concession fee of between 4.4 million euro and 15.1 million euro, the government said in a statement. Moreover, the French company will invest in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Belgrade airport's main runway, the construction of auxiliary runways and quick exits, the government said. |

| Serbia to invest 1.5 bln euro in Pozega-Boljare motorway project BELGRADE (Serbia), March 29 – Serbia's government said on Thursday it plans to invest 1.5 billion euro ($1.8 billion) in the construction of a motorway section of pan-European transport Corridor XI, connecting Pozega to Boljare, on the border with Montenegro. The Serbian infrastructure ministry signed on Thursday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) for the construction of the 107 km-long motorway section, the government said in the statement. |

| Turkish Airlines-backed project to set up Albanian air carrier in final stage - PM 2017 TIRANA (Albania), March 23 – A project to establish Albanian air carrier with the support of Turkish Airlines is in its final stage, Albania's prime minister Edi Rama said on Friday. The Turkish Airlines will assist the project at all levels, Rama said in a Facebook post following a meeting with Turkish Airlines CEO Ilker Ayci. No further details about the project were revealed. The Albanian government, together with Turkish Airlines staff is conducting a feasibility study on the project. |

| Completed the reconstruction of the railway line Virpazar - Sutomore in the Sozina tunnel SUTOMORE (Montenegro), March 1 - Regarding the completion of the reconstruction of the railway line on the Virpazar - Sutomore section in the Sozina tunnel in the length of 6712 meters, minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Osman Nurković, pointed out yesterday that the transport sector in Montenegro together with the environment sector is predominant in the number of projects financed through available IPA funds. "Funds provided through various available European funds are of undeniable value for Montenegro and therefore we, in the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, continue and persist, in order to respect European procedures, to ensure in the complex procedures the maximum utilization of European funds", emphasized Nurković. |
