Using technology to treat depression and ‘rewire’ the brain
Doctors are using technology to treat depression with a new system called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS. The non-invasive procedure uses magnetic fields, like an MRI, to stimulate the areas of the brain that are affected by mental illnesses like clinical depression. Kim talks to Dr. TeeJay Tripp and his patient, Candise Miller, about the impact of TMS and how technology is changing both healthcare and mental health care.
