The Senate passed legislation Tuesday to provide much-needed health care for veterans exposed to burn pit smoke and other toxins, days after Republicans blocked the bill over spending concerns.

The vote comes after veterans groups and comedian Jon Stewart spoke out and staged public protests at the Capitol, putting Republicans on the defensive for much of the last week.
