Improve Your Ocean Literacy

The ocean plays such a large role in our lives, and yet there is still so much we don’t know about it ! As education is a cornerstone of Surfrider’s mission, the organization is dedicated to sharing knowledge with an informed society, one that is conscious of the importance of the ecosystem, and ready to defend it at every level of society.

IPCC Special Report: Climate, state of emergency

Three years after COP 21 and the signing of the Paris Agreement by 197 States, the IPCC releases its special report on the consequences of global warming at 1.5°C. According to the Panel, limiting the global average temperature rise to 1.5°C is still possible; however it will require 'unprecedented' transitions in all aspects of society.

Voice For The Ocean European Tour - Final Stop!

The VFTO Tour consists of a series of round table discussions, workshops and conferences traveling to 5 different stops around Europe: Burgas, Paris, Malaga, Brussels; and now the final stop of the VFTO tour will be Porto, Portugal on November 9-10! COASTAL DEFENDERS

SFE Porto Chapter, in partnership with Manifesto and Nomad, participated in the "Rios Livres" debate on the preservation of our rivers and the challenges of water resources management. This inspiring event enabled healthy debate seeking, above all, to contribute to the education and awareness of society to the value of natural heritage. A big Bravo!

AWARENESS EVENT

In September, the SFE Paris office organized "Do it for the ocean", a day dedicated to the ocean! The day's activities, organized at the Consulate of La Gaîtéocean, included DIY workshops, awareness events and a photo exhibition. A mobile computer station also made it possible to participate in the European citizen consultation, "Voice for the Ocean". An excellent day of awareness!
