Administration investments will expand clean energy and union jobs In Iowa, Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh and Rep. Cindy Axne met with labor leaders and others at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33 Training Center, where they discussed how federal investments are expanding green jobs, strengthening pathways to good-paying jobs and improving infrastructure. $80 million available to help train, expand and diversify the nursing workforce Were offering $80 million through our Nursing Expansion Grant Program. The grants will support nursing training programs designed to expand the pipeline of nursing professionals while advancing equity and creating pathways for workers to fill these jobs and improve the nations healthcare system. Some 275,000 additional nurses will be needed from 2020 to 2030, and employment opportunities for nurses are projected to grow 9%. |
