GoNOMAD's Travels: Gaspesie, Quebec
The Gaspe Peninsula, or Gaspesie, is north of Nova Scotia, a beautiful place nearly surrounded by water. With 47 lighthouses and a pristine interior full of moose, it was a treat to drive all around Gaspe and enjoy the seafood and friendly people.

From top: The American Lake in Gaspesie National Park, the Point-a-la-Renommee Lighthouse, the Perce Rock near Bonaventure Island, and the thousands of gannets who come to the island to have their young.

Parmigiano Reggiano Vacche Rosse: Cheese from the Red Cows

“It’s the red cows, Vacche Rosse,.” Toni said, teaching me to pronounce the words. “Vah-kay. Row say.” He pointed his knife to a photograph of a cow in his cheese case.

“An ancient breed from Emilia-Romagna, the best cheese cows in Italy.” He cut a kilo for me and gave me a brochure from the Consorzio Vacche Rosse.

Things You Need To Know Before Visiting Nicaragua That Guide Books Won’t Tell You

He was offended by the shorts. Apparently, Ash should have worn long pants and a nicer shirt. I could only imagine what he thought of me in my tank top and shorty shorts.
