Tech advice you can trust™ |
Quick tip of the dayWhen you can’t name that tune you hear at a restaurant or party, or just the earworm stuck in your head, let your phone do the work for you. You can even hum a few notes for an answer. Let’s start by using Google. Open the Google app or search, tap the microphone icon, and ask, “What's this song?” or click the “Search a song” button. Then start humming for 10 to 15 seconds. It works very well. For songs playing around you, on an iPhone, use Shazam. Open the Control Center and tap the Shazam button. Let Shazam listen for a few seconds, and you’ll get the song’s title. Shazam is also available as an app for Android. For tunes playing in video games, TV shows and movies, go to Tunefind. It lists songs by episode, games, movies and television shows.Smart, right? For more quick tips like this one, subscribe to my Daily Tech Update podcast.
