Frugal Living Tips Weekly (September 16, 2018)
Mina has provided us a sentimental look back at her father shaving. I can remember the smell of Old Spice and my dad too, although not in such vivid and loving detail. I hope you enjoy this week's featured tip and all our helpful ideas in this week's newsletter.

Jess

A black and white photo of a man in a suit.My father shaved every Saturday night after his bath. The smell of the week's sweat was washed away, replaced by the clean light fresh smell of the Sweetheart soap he used.

Paper Card Organizer

By katrine2706

Paper Card Organizer - organizer partially open The advantage of doing this project is that you can change designs anytime you want. This cost less or if you are creative enough, you can even make some out of recycled magazines almost for free. It would work well to store loyalty or bonus type cards.

The Frugal Lady Is At It Again

By sharon6345

A medicine cabinet of personal care items.I have found when a friend or neighbor helps me in some kind way, it's nice to pack up a care bag for two household items. They are often in need of them. I have had wonderful feedback from that. The bags I order free by playing a game, about 50 shopping bags in each.

Deodorize Clothing with Vodka

By attosa

A bottle of vodka to be used for deodorizing clothes.A great way to deodorize clothes is to place some vodka in a spray bottle and mist them with it. Hang them to dry and you'll notice all the smells are gone. The vodka kills bacteria and odor, but won't leave an alcohol scent behind. This is great for clothes that you just brought out from storage.

Raised Salt Fall Kids' Artwork

By Benetta

Raised Salt Fall Kids' Artwork - paint the remaining squares with brown and orange and allow to dryLately I have started using food colorings with the kids in my art class, as it is more cost effective and adds bolder colors to the end product. Combining food colorings with salt and glue offers a great technique for kids to explore their own creativity.

Almost Care Free Roses

By likekinds

A rosebed of pink and red knockout roses.A couple of times in other posts, I mentioned starting a rose bed on a hill at the upper end of my property. Sadly enough, this is it. Except for two, I rooted all these roses. I do feel good about that. Most everything else is a tale of woe.

Add Salt to Strong Coffee

By littergitter

Adding salt to a cup of strong coffee.I love my coffee but it has to be just right for me. I'm not a fan of Starbucks coffee. Years ago, I purchased a cup while shopping at the mall. It was too strong for me. I asked if they had any salt and the answer was, "No."
