We're always excited about our fundraising campaigns, but this one feels really special. Today we launch our biggest fundraiser to date: Skate School 5: Bamyan! We aim to raise $300,000 by the end of December, to run programs in our fifth Skate School, in the province of Bamyan, Afghanistan. The Skate School will be a place of fun, inclusion and creativity where children come first.

It has been a tough year for our students, as all of them have faced lockdowns due to Covid-19. The new Skate School in Bamyan will be a symbol of hope for children as they recover from the challenges of 2020.

Shabnam is 14 years old and lives in Bamyan, Afghanistan. She joined Skateistan Outreach programs earlier this year where she learned to skateboard for the first time.

Throughout the campaign, we will be introducing you to four different students that have joined Skateistan in Bamyan, whom we call the 'Bamyan Shredders'. Students like Ehsan, who has made incredible progress on his skateboard since he first joined Skateistan Outreach programs in Bamyan earlier this year. And students like Shoaib, who is 13 and is already looking forward to helping others at the Skate School once it's built.
