Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here's a look at some of our top headlines. Guns in the Quarter: Throughout the Vieux Carré, signs are beginning to crop up in storefronts telling people with guns they aren't welcome. The trend comes in advance of the permitless concealed carry law taking effect. Missy Wilkinson and John Simerman have the story. Port seeks new leader: The Port of New Orleans will formally begin its search for a new leader after its last chief executive, Brandy Christian, resigned unexpectedly to take a job running a private sector rail company in Florida. Tony McAuley has this report. Cause and effect: You may remember a political dust-up earlier this summer that cost the city millions in funding for the new Sewerage and Water Board power complex. The implications of that are coming into sharper view, and it will likely affect plans to upgrade the city's drinking water system. Ben Myers has the details. We've got plenty more news, entertainment and sports from The Times-Picayune here. Thanks for reading. Chad |
