When forests thrive, so do we.

From birdsongs to the calls of frogs, the cries of monkeys to the buzzing of billions of insects, the sounds of tropical forests make up a rich symphony.

In addition to providing homes to more than half of all species found on land, forests help keep our climate stable, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, they regulate our water supply and improve its quality.

Find out why we must protect these green giants, which are vanishing at a rapid rate.

On 23 September, world leaders will gather in New York to attend the Climate Action Summit at the United Nations Head Quarters. UN Secretary-General António Guterres is calling for countries to take significantly more ambitious action to address the climate crisis. Just ahead of the Summit, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to ask for the same in climate marches scheduled to take place in New York and 2,500 other locations around the world.

Anyone can join the climate marches on September 20 and 27. Check for an event near where you live and stand alongside thousands of other people calling for urgent action to protect people and nature.

You can get involved on social media, where you're at a march or not. We've put together some shareable graphics you can download here.
