Scenario # 2: Zuma bounces back, again
He’s just much more strategic, much more motivated and much more ruthless than his rivals

Oh dear. Another attempt to dislodge Jacob Zuma; another failure. Someone once gave me a blow-up sort of doll of Saddam Hussein. It had sand as ballast at the bottom so that every time you punched Saddam he’d fall over and bounce back up again, laughing.
The laughing soon stopped because the little device that made the sounds broke, but the weekend’s events at the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) reminded me of my Saddam doll. Basically, the president has control of the NEC. Some brave souls aside, they back him.
The next site of struggle, I suppose, will be a vote of no confidence in Zuma in parliament. Zuma will win that too. The constitutional court still has to rule whether that vote can be carried out in secret but I’ll tell you for free, now, that Zuma will win it, secret vote or not.

I want to present the following scenario in response to Peter Bruce.
The contesting factions within the ANC are fundamentally and ideologically opposed. The Zuma side want and have been pushing for centralized control with the president (Zuma) having total control. This is consistent with his desire for dictatorial powers for six months as he has famously stated. Under this scenario he must continue singularly exercising the power to appoint heads of critical Chapter Nine institutions so that he control what they decide to do. He has succeeded spectacularly in this enterprise and he will fight to protect the patrimonial state he has created. The principal motivation is to ensure that he does not face the 783 charges that were suspended by a pliant NPA boss. This explains his desperate determination to install Nkosazana as his successor in Dec.
But he faces the fight for the soul of the ANC led by Cyril and the Gauteng ANC

Petroleum industry learnership programme gives people living with disabilities the upper hand in gaining permanent employment

- More than 7.5% of the South African population (2.8 million people) are living with a disability
- People living with disabilities make up less than 1% of total SA workforce
- Disabled candidates placed with host employers have better chance of finding permanent employment
Cape Town, [date] 2017: In South Africa, people living with disabilities make up more than 2.8 million people (7.5% of the population), according to Stats SA (Census 2011). These people face extreme odds in terms of accessing stable employment opportunities, to the extent that they make up less than 1% of South Africa’s total workforce.
