SpaceX (private) is investing $2 billion…
In Elon Musk’s Artificial Intelligence startup.
The deal comes days after rumors suggest SpaceX is raising money at a $400 billion valuation.
xAI is Elon’s Artificial Intelligence company that competes with OpenAI and its ChatGPT. xAI merged with the social media company X (formerly Twitter) earlier this year.
Morgan Stanley is leading a $5 billion fundraising for xAI at a $113 billion valuation.
SpaceX has agreed to invest $2 billion in xAI, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has not invested in xAI.
Elon says that Tesla shareholders will be able to vote on whether to invest in xAI.
Tesla vehicles will get access to the xAI chatbot called Grok this week.
Elon has a long history of having his companies invest or partner with one another. In 2008, Elon borrowed $20 million from SpaceX. And he used that money to prop up Tesla which was on the verge of bankruptcy.
The SpaceX investment in xAI further aligns his empire of companies.
