Tell the FCC: No More Intimidation and Censorship Friend,
Under the leadership of prominent Trump lackey and Project 2025 co-author1 Brendan Carr, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is attacking the First Amendment and freedom of the press. Sound familiar? A few weeks ago, Carr opened a sham investigation into NPR and PBS2 — and now he’s coming after CBS.
Carr launched a baseless investigation into alleged “news distortion” by CBS3 for simply editing a 60 Minutes interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris — ignoring the fact that editing is a standard practice of television production. He’s trying to squeeze the company at the same time that President Trump is suing them for $20 billion over the same interview.4
This dangerous FCC chairman is distorting reality to push an extremist partisan agenda, taking a twisted view of the First Amendment that protects only the Trump regime’s preferred speech and media outlets.
The FCC should never be in the business of intimidating journalists and censoring reporting that would hold the president accountable. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should not be the White House’s media censor. This sham investigation into CBS disregards the First Amendment and is extremely chilling for reporters who are just doing their jobs trying to educate the public.
