Welcome to the new Bell Museum! The Bell Museum is Minnesota’s official natural history museum and planetarium, located in a brand new home on the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul campus. This world-class museum features a exciting exhibits, famous wildlife dioramas, the Touch & See lab, outdoor learning experiences, and more. Explore the far reaches of the universe in the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium, see a glimpse of the diversity of life on Earth and throughout Minnesota, travel back in time to meet a woolly mammoth, and learn about University of Minnesota researchers imagining a better future.

New Planetarium Show: The Sun, Our Living Star Opening Friday, November 29 The Sun has been shining on our world for 4.5 billion years. It is our nearest star and our planet’s powerhouse, the source of the energy that drives our winds, our weather, and all life. Discover the secrets of our star in this planetarium show and experience never-before-seen images of the Sun’s violent surface in immersive full-dome format.

Special Family Activities over Thanksgiving Weekend Family Discovery Days: Friday, November 29–Sunday, December 01 Enjoy some science-related family fun over this long weekend, with extra activities in our education wing, a special display in Collections Cove, and some favorite Solution Studio challenges including weaving and several other activities. You’ll find hands-on astronomy and nature themed activities throughout the museum, featuring everything from beetles to Audubon’s turkey. All activities are free with museum admission.
