My Mushroom Trip (pun intended)
In 1992, when I was a teenager, my father, Ralph W. Moss, PhD, asked me to assist with a significant project for The Moss Report. I was tasked with recording an interview with a select group of research scientists from Japan, including Dr. Hiroaki Nanba, accompanied by translator and medicinal mushroom pioneer, Mike Shirota. This group flew in from Japan in order to present their findings on Maitake mushrooms, in particular vs cancer. This was my first real assignment for The Moss Report, and the experience left a lasting impression on me. You can catch a glimpse of that interview here. Today, decades later, I find myself in Bari, Italy, reporting on the 12th International Medicinal Mushroom Conference. This moment feels like a full-circle experience, as I reflect on the journey that began with that first assignment—now in my role as producer of The Moss Report, I am continuing the work in support of my father’s vision of advancing natural medicine and health research, which now includes, among other things, my own mushroom trip. Apologies, I couldn't resist this pun, as I write this there is a presentation being given on Psilocybin, the compound found in so called 'magic mushrooms'.
Below, you can find a number of articles on this fascinating subject on The Moss Report website.
