December 11, 2024

Today, we’re pleased to present our collaboration with the magazine Jewish Currents on a special report examining the impact of the events of October 7, 2023, and Israel’s ensuing war on Gaza, on the art world. Prefaced by our Editor-in-Chief Hrag Vartanian and News Editor Valentina Di Liscia and co-published with Jewish Currents, the piece looks back at works of art that have been removed from public display over the past 14 months, whether due to institutional censorship or as an artist’s act of protest. Thank you to the dedicated team at Jewish Currents for working with us on this project.

Also today: Hrag reunites with his university professor Karen Wilkin for a podcast interview about her career as a curator and art critic, a peek into the Met Museum’s planned Modern and Contemporary Art wing, the movie musical that outdid Wicked 60 years ago, a creative protest at the Noguchi Museum in New York, and more.
