Will the international community hold Hamas accountable for the terrorist group’s sexual crimes? Bar-Ilan University’s (BIU) Prof. Ruth Halperin-Kaddari is on the frontlines of the essential, ambitious endeavor to attain justice for the victims of the October 7th massacre.
As Founding Academic Director of the Rackman Center for the Advancement of the Status of Women at BIU’s Faculty of Law, Prof. Halperin-Kaddari has led the fight for women’s rights and gender equality in Israel and internationally for over two decades, including as Vice Chair of the UN Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. Her latest initiative is seeking recognition for the victims of the sexual violence and gender-based atrocities executed by Hamas on October 7th. She works to achieve this goal through the Dinah Project, which she co-founded under the auspices of the Rackman Center.
Join American Friends of Bar-Ilan University for a timely and poignant discussion with Prof. Halperin-Kaddari on the fight for women’s rights after October 7th, the broader outlook on the current war, and the issue of gender equality in Israeli society.
