The implications of a second Trump presidency for everything we care about are stark. And it’s not just us who are impacted – it's Israelis and Palestinians, Ukrainians and more.
Many are understandably concerned about what this means for Israel’s democracy and the increasingly dire situation in Gaza. An unrestrained Netanyahu will likely take this as a green light for yet more devastation, West Bank annexation and the resumption of his assault on Israel’s democracy.
At J Street, we have plans to respond. Unlike far too many in our community who’ve welcomed Trump’s victory, we’re pledging to lead a strong, effective opposition – working to blunt the impact of Trump’s terrifying Project 2025 agenda here and Netanyahu’s anti-democratic, annexationist agenda in Israel.
That work starts now: J Street has assembled a raft of steps President Biden can take immediately to improve humanitarian aid access, reinforce American and international legal safeguards, restrain far-right extremists and help return hostages to their families and end the war.

Of course, we also know that following a horrifically racist, misogynistic and antisemitic campaign – with anger spewed at Jews for supporting Democrats and plans for mass deportations – minority and marginalized communities are on the frontlines. We need to pull together now more than ever.
J Street is committed to partnering with allies and strengthening coalitions to fight like hell to block the MAGA agenda that threatens our freedoms, our values, our safety and everything we hold dear.
We’ll also strengthen ties with our pro-democracy, pro-peace allies in Israel: Amplifying their voices, fighting for Israel’s democratic future, opposing the Trump-Netanyahu agenda and standing up for what’s right.

Charting a path out of this calamity for our country and for the region will be challenging, but J Street is ready for the fight.
We’ll work with our allies in Congress and beyond. We’ll be the mainstream voice of our community. A voice of sanity, reason and honesty.
And even as we fight immediate battles, we’ll focus on growing power for the future: Building the infrastructure to defeat MAGA leaders at the ballot box, shaping policy within the Democratic Party, and supporting the next generation of pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy leaders.
There are lessons to be learned in the days, months and years ahead, and it’s vitally important that they are the right ones.
With our nuanced, constructive approach, we’ll make the case that strong, clear leadership – that never compromises our values and truly fights for the humanity of both Israelis and Palestinians – offers the best path forward on both the politics and policy of Israel-Palestine within the democratic coalition.
The fight continues, and with the stakes this high, we must transform our anger into action.
