Plus delicious Lemon myrtle scones with a finger lime glaze
| What a year it’s been. I can barely believe we are in December already! When I look back on 2024, there are two things that stand out as absolutely highlights at ABC Radio Perth. Firstly, the Countdown 50th anniversary party. What an incredible night, and a privilege to be able to meet, chat and dance with so many of our wonderful listeners. And then came ABC Gives. This year’s Radiothon for Foodbank WA raised an incredible $522,000. That was the most raised by any state in what is a national appeal. It warms my heart to know West Australians care so deeply and are so generous in a time that is financially tough for us all. There is still time to help out, click here to make a donation. Next year, I’ll be saying hi to you through the TV once again, as I return to ABC News. You’ll find me on the ABC News Channel from 8pm each evening, and on Channel 2 for the Late News around 10.30 each weeknight. Thank you for your company, your calls and your texts on the Afternoon Show during the past 15 months. I have loved getting to know you. But I do hope to drop in to radio from time to time, so save up your worst jokes for then! Wishing you a very merry Christmas, and a happy and safe 2025. Cheers from Tets, or as they call me on the news, Michael Tetlow! | | |

As of today WA's road toll is sitting at 165 - a ten year high. In this special Spotlight forum, Nadia Mitsopoulos hosted a live audience to explore why speeding, drink driving, inattention, fatigue and not wearing a seatbelt are still a problem. And why the 'it won't happen to me' mentality is so hard to shake.

There is still time to donate and give hope to those in need at Christmas. With the generosity of 720 ABC Radio Perth listeners, we have raised more than $535,000 for Foodbank WA as part of the ABC Gives Appeal. This means Foodbank WA can distribute over 1 million meals to those who need it most. Thank you to all who have donated - we couldn't do it without you!
