Hi my wonderful gardening friends! Well, the potatoes are growing, the onions are finally greening up, and I've already collected more dandelion and violet flowers than I know what to do with. These will both be infused into oil, then used to make a number of different salves. Violet and dandelion do have an affinity for breasts and the salve is an excellent remedy for fibroids. You can see how to do that at How to Infuse an Oil with Herbs Also, I emailed you before about a most excellent resource. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. I am good at growing herbs. My compost pile (ahem) needs more attention. I mean, I do well to get the compost pile filled up, but then there's turning it... and turning it... then there's getting it FROM the compost pile TO the garden. Hard Work! But how do I know what to put IN the compost pile? How do I know when to turn it? How do I know when it's ready? Are you as full of questions as I am (even after gardening for 50 years of my life)? I have an excellent resource to offer you today. There is an early bird bonus with it also! One of the books in the bundle is "Nourish Your Garden ~ Easy Homemade Fertilizer Recipes". In it, Kristi Stone from Stone Family Farmstead gives you some super great ideas for feeding your garden. In addition to the primary nutrients, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium, she also talks about secondary nutrients and micro-nutrients. She lists things you can use for feeding your plants beyond the basic compost and store bought (read expensive) fertilizers. I found it a most excellent bit of information. And I'm always a sucker for things I can do myself. (I simply hate going to town anymore!) So, if you would like to invest in your garden and have actionable ideas you can access and use easily, do give it a look! |
